Helpful Information for the Calculation of Fringe Benefits

* For Permanent Full Time Staff and Faculty & Permanent Part Time Faculty and Staff:

Calculate 16.93% of the salary amount, this will cover FICA, FICA-med and Retirement Benefits

Add to that the Basic Life flat rate of $114 (this is regardless of the salary amount)

And finally, add in the $9,588 for Health Insurance ( this figure is effective January 1, 2007 )

* For Temporary Part-Time Faculty and Staff  Fringe Benefits:

Fica Med is 1.45% of the salary amount

* For Student Assistants and Graduate Assistants:

No benefits are calculated
