New graduates have one year from their graduation date to utilize the services of the Career Center free of charge. Any alumni that graduated more than one year ago will fall under our fee-based alumni services.
A FREE consultation appointment is available to determine if our fee based services are the best fit for you. Should you decide to enroll, the fee is $60 and allows for six months of access to the services and resources of the Career Center. These are the same services that our currently enrolled students are eligible for. For alumni that can provide documentation of their active status as a paid member of the Alumni Association, there is a $10 reduction provided in the Alumni Career Services fee.
Services for Alumni in the Career Center include:
Appointments with a Career Advisor to receive additional help in mapping out your job search plans and tailoring a job search strategy to meet your individual needs
Guidance in career transitions and access to developmental resources to facilitate career choice
Access to our web based job listings of professional openings in the Augusta area and beyond that are listed with the ASU Career Center
Ability to post your resume in our Web Resume Book for employers and Career Center staff to access directly
Participation in any of our career fairs or on campus recruiting events
Critiques and resources on cover letters and resumes
Computer lab with Internet access and a fax machine to assist you in all of your job search needs
PAYMENT: Should you choose to purchase our 6 months of services, you may pay by credit card. Email the Director, Julie Goley at jgoley@aug.edu to receive a web link where your payment can be processed. Checks can be accepted, payable to the ASU Career Center if credit card payment is not available. Cash is not accepted.
We firmly believe we are the most accessible and resourceful option for our students and alumni seeking assistance in a job search and encourage you to make an appointment with a staff member to learn more.
For additional information concerning Augusta State University Alumni programs and activities including the Alumni Newsletter visit the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. The ASU Counseling Center also provides a fee based alumni service that focuses purely on career counseling. This fee provides ASU alumni with a series of career counseling appointments and assessments. This is a good step for someone who is really unsure about their career aspirations or looking to identify alternate career interests.
