Requirements for a Minor in Chemistry
In order to earn a minor in chemistry, you must take at least 23 semester hours in chemistry. These 23 hours must include the introductory sequence CHEM 1211 and 1212 (8 hours total), CHEM 2810 (Quantitative Analysis, 4 hours), CHEM 3411 (Organic Chemistry I, 4 hours) and an additional 7-8 hours chosen from the following:
- CHEM 3412 (Organic Chemistry II)
- CHEM 3721 (Physical Chemistry I)
- CHEM 3722 (Physical Chemistry II)
- CHEM 3810 (Advanced Organic Chemistry)
- CHEM 4210 (Advanced Inorganic Chemistry)
- CHEM 4541 (Biochemistry for Pre-meds) or CHEM 4551 (Biochemistry I)
- CHEM 4830 (Principles of Instrument Design)
- CHEM 4840 (Instrumental Analysis)
- CHEM 4950 (Selected Topics)
