Two Physics Students Awarded PRESTIGE Scholarships

Junior Physics majors Chris Cutler and Chris Parham just became the first two students at ASU to be accepted into the new I-MAT teacher education program and to receive a PRESTIGE Scholarship. The scholarships will provide each of them about $15,000 per year to assist them in pursuing their teacher education degrees. The I-MAT (Integrated Masters of Arts in Teaching) is a new program at ASU that allows qualified undergraduates in chemistry, physics, biology and math to begin taking graduate level courses in pursuit of an MAT during their junior year. The I-MAT program of study is part of the larger PRESTIGE program (Program for Recruiting and Educating STEM Teachers with Integrated Graduate Enrollment), a new teacher education initiative at ASU which is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Congratulations to Chris Cutler and Chris Parham!
