CATALOG DESCRIPTION:
A study of frequency, relative and cumulative frequency distributions
of data, graphical presentations of data, descriptive statistics, Chebyshev's
inequality, basic probability, mean and standard deviation of random variables,
binomial, Poisson and normal distributions, sampling techniques and sampling
distributions, statistical estimation and hypothesis testing, simple linear
regression and correlation, and statistical quality control and forecasting
techniques. |
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
The principal learning outcomes of this course are to have each student
develop and demonstrate knowledge and basic skills related to:

The skills to solve applied problems and interpret quantitative information
contained in business data

The ability to make informed judgments or decisions about random phenomenon
in business

The ability to use a statistical software package to analyze the data collected
and report the results of research in correctly documented form
