Societal Issues in Business Decisions |
CATALOG DESCRIPTION:
Prerequisite: Graduate (MBA) student status and MGMT 3500 or
equivalent. An examination of the interrelationships between business
and society from a managerial perspective. The decisional implication
of ethics and natural environment, and stakeholder diversity and business
regulation are addressed from an applications standpoint. |
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
The principle learning outcomes of this course are:

Understanding the important definitions, theories, concepts, and frameworks
of ethical organizational decision making

Identifying and recognizing ethical issues

Relating the issues of an ethical controversy to the admixture of: moral
philosophy, values, beliefs, work group influence, organizational climate
and culture

Articulating and defending choices in making ethical judgments and examining
the consequences of those decisions

Understanding perspectives on natural environmental issues

Being able to develop responses to natural environmental concerns

Understanding the dynamics of valuing, managing and assimilating a diverse
