CATALOG DESCRIPTION:
Prerequisite: Graduate (MBA) student status and MGMT 3500 or
equivalent. A comprehensive survey of the typical personnel management
decisions faced by managers, including accepted contemporary practice relative
to job analysis, EEO regulations, selection, development, discipline, discharge,
appraisal, compensation, benefits, and global human resource issues. |
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
The principle learning outcomes of this course are:

To understand the conceptual and applications framework associated with
the fundamental HRM activities as they typically arise in private and public
sector organizations.

To apply course content to the practical issues faced by all mangers and
HRM staff.

To develop an understanding that all managers with subordinates have HRM
responsibilities and must perform them to be effective.

To complete a group of incidents and exercises which include some basic
HRM activities that effective managers should be familiar with.
