Assistant Department Chair, Communications and Professional Writing

 

Duties include developing new department at Augusta State University, student advising and program assessment.

 

Women’s Studies Program Director

 

Director of the Augusta State University’s Women’s Studies Program. Duties include chairing the Women’s Studies Committee, advising the Women’s Studies Student Organization, supervising the Women’s Studies Program student assistant, and recruiting students for the Women’s Studies minor. This position also requires extensive event planning and promotion for Women’s Week events, the Take Back the Night Rally, and other on-campus speakers sponsored and co-sponsored by the Women’s Studies Program (Spring 2003-Summer 2004).

 

Assistant Course Director

 

Assistant Course Director for University of Illinois Fundamentals of Public Speaking. Assisted Course Director in designing the introductory public speaking course, administering the course, and training new and experienced teaching assistants. The course enrolls approximately 2,400 students per year in over 100 sections, with over 30 teaching assistants (Fall 1990-Spring 1993).

 

Peer Leader

 

Peer Leader for University of Illinois Fundamentals of Public Speaking. Provided training and continued support for new graduate teaching assistants for Fundamentals of Public Speaking course (Fall 1989-1993).

 

Dual-Enrollment Coordinator

 

Serve as liaison and mentor for students who are enrolled in both high school and Lake Superior State University at the same time (Fall 1998-Spring 1999).

 

Internship Director

 

Development and administration of public relations internship program for Lake Superior State University students minoring in Public Relations (Fall 1996-2001).
