Informative Speaking: Contestant presents a message which explains, describes, or demonstrates.

Persuasive Speaking: Contestant presents a message intended to initiate, reinforce, motivate, influence, or change beliefs of the audience.

Impromptu Speaking: Contestant receives no more than three minutes of preparation time on a topic not
previously known. Contestant chooses from three topics and selects one for speaking.

Poetry Slam: Contestants will deliver an original poem on any subject to be read either
from a script or delivered from memory in 3 to 5 minutes.
