Preliminary Schedule of Conservatory-Sponsored Events
and first meetings of classes

January 2008

• January 7 (Monday), 7:15  – 9:00 PM – Registration and first rehearsal of the Conservatory Wind Symphony.  Meets in Fine Arts Rehearsal Hall
• January 9 (Wednesday), 6:30  – 7:30 PM – First class meeting of the Beginning Guitar Class.  Meets in Fine Arts Room A-10.
• January 10 (Thursday), 6:30  – 7:30 PM – First class meeting of the Music Fundamentals Class.  Meets in Fine Arts Room D-1a.
• January 12 (Saturday), 10:00-10:45 AM – First class meeting of the Silly Monkey Music Class.  Meets in Fine Arts Room D-1a
• January 12 (Saturday), 11:00 AM-noon . First class meeting of the Beginning Piano Class.  Meets in Fine Arts Room D-3.
• January 14 (Monday), 5:00-7:00 PM – Registration and auditions for all wind and percussion applicants and all new string applicants for the Greater Augusta Youth Orchestra.  All applicants should sign up for an audition time by calling the Conservatory Program Office at 706.731.7971.  The audition room will be designated by a sign in the Fine Arts lobby.   Applicants will be notified of the audition results by email or postcard within 5 days.
• January 14 (Monday), 6:30-8:00 PM – Registration and first rehearsal of the Conservatory Middle School Wind Symphony.  Meets in “Old” Fine Arts Rehearsal Hall, Room B-11.
• January 15 (Tuesday), 6:30-7:30 PM – First class meeting of the Voice Class.  Meets in Fine Arts Room D-1a.
• January 19 (Saturday), 10:00 AM-NOON  – Registration and first rehearsal of the Conservatory Jazz Band.  Meets in Fine Arts Rehearsal Hall.
• January 28 (Monday), 5:00-6:00 PM – Registration and first rehearsal of Greater Augusta Youth Orchestra I.
• January 28 (Monday), 6:00-7:00 PM – Registration and first rehearsal of Greater Augusta Youth Orchestra II.  On several weeks through the semester (but not every week) the rehearsal will continue until 7:30 PM.
