How many more lessons do I have before I need to register for another set of lessons?

For this information, you should contact your instructor . The Conservatory Office can tell you only the number of lessons for which we received a registration and the date that they were entered into the Continuing Education database. This office will not know if you or the instructor have had to cancel/reschedule lessons.

How do I know when to pay for more lessons?

Again, this is information that the instructor can provide. We do recommend that students keep up with their lessons. Payment for another set of lessons should be received by the Conservatory Office by the time the last pre-paid lesson has been taught.

Please do not expect the instructor to teach lessons for which tuition has not yet been received.

How do I know that payment has been received for lessons or classes?

Once registration & payment have been received, the information is entered into the computer database and a receipt is mailed out by the Continuing Education office. This will be the only confirmation that you will receive.

How do I know when a class is to meet?

The starting dates, and audition dates, for Conservatory Classes and Ensembles will be posted on the website calendar. A receipt from the Continuing Education office verifying payment of the class fee is the only confirmation of registration that you will receive.

If a class for which you have registered is cancelled , you will be notified by phone or e-mail prior to the class staring date.

Do I have to pay a registration fee every time in addition to the tuition?

As of January 1, 2006, the registration fee (or processing fee) is already figured into the tuition. The Private Lesson tuition listed on the chart that you will find on the back of the Registration Form includes the fee. Actually, the fee gets smaller when you register for a larger number of lessons (to the point that there is no registration fee at all for a set of 16 or more lessons). When you make a payment for private lessons, consult the chart for the appropriate amount and do not add any additional amount for the processing fee. The registration fee is also figured into the currently listed tuition for classes, ensembles, and summer camps. When you make a payment for classes, ensembles, or summer camps, pay only the advertised amount.

Why do I have to complete a registration form every time I register for more lessons?

Completing a new registration form ensures that the Conservatory Program will have correct information about your registration. Here are some of the possible problems that might ensue if a registration form is not provided with payment:

  • Some students share the same last name. If all we have to go by is a check, we might credit the wrong person.

  • A student may be taking lessons from more than one teacher. Without a registration form the lessons may be credited to the wrong instructor.

  • A student may have moved, changed telephone or email address since the last registration .

  • The student & the instructor may have decided that lesson times need to be shortened or lengthened (30-minute to 45-minute lessons, etc) and that information has not yet been given to the Conservatory Office. This would affect the number of lessons covered by a particular payment.
