Frequently Asked Questions
What is Continuing Education?
It is the mission of the Division of Continuing Education to extend the resources of Augusta State University (ASU) to promote lifelong learning. We serve a diverse population by providing a variety of educational programs for the professional, cultural, and personal development of the citizens of the CSRA . Our programming is sound in educational content, is presented by qualified instructors, and reaches people of all ages and walks of life. We are responsive to the changing needs of the campus and the community, in part by utilizing emerging technologies. We promote the mission of Augusta State University, both on and off campus.
What about Parking?
For courses held on ASU campus, you will receive a temporary parking decal in the mail with your receipt. Our campus is well-lighted at night and Public Safety patrols the campus at all times. Please be aware that due to ongoing construction, some parking areas may be unavailable. We will make every effort to notify you in advance of parking lot changes. If you haven't heard from us and expect parking to be a problem, please contact Public Safety at 737-1401 or call us the week before your class begins. This is especially important if you have special parking needs.
Where do I get books or supplies for a course?
Required textbooks and many supplies are available at the ASU Bookstore. Please save your receipts in the event a course is canceled and a refund is desired. If you are planning to take an online class, check the course description for a list of required textbooks and/or software. There will be a link to a web site or a toll-free number listed to obtain the materials. Alternately, you can always order these items through the ASU Bookstore.
What if I have special needs?
If you require special accommodation or have other special needs, please contact Continuing Education as far in advance as possible.
How about library use?
ADULT Continuing Education students may have limited use of the library during the academic quarter in which they are enrolled. Please request the required library usage form from the Office of Continuing Education.
What is a CEU?
A CEU is a nationally recognized unit of credit for recording satisfactory completion of many Continuing Education classes. One CEU represents 10 contact hours of instruction. ASU Continuing Education maintains permanent records of an individual's CEU credits. Transcripts are available upon written request.
Climate Control
Our classrooms can be very warm or too cool. For your comfort, we recommend that you dress in layers.
