The Center for Teaching and Learning supports efforts aimed at enhancing and maintaining effective teaching by advancing a collegial culture of inquiry about learning and teaching.
Events
Your D2L transition team has set up a training schedule for May and June for those of you who have been patiently waiting (with certain excited anticipation) for your introduction to D2L. We will offer introductory Sessions I and II as well as several Special Topics trainings to get you ready for the Fall full transition from GeorgiaVIEW to Desire2Learn.
- Session I (Introduction to D2L) is the basic training that will review the system and point out differences between GeorgiaVIEW and D2L. This session is a prerequisite for all others.
- Session II (Building a Course in D2L) will cover how to build a course from scratch and expose participants to the power of the new system. This session is a prerequisite for all Special Topics sessions.
- Special Topic sessions on gradebooks, assignments, and quizzes will provide focused training on how to use those capabilities in Desire2Learn.

Focus For Current Academic Year
For 2011-2012 the ASU Center for Teaching and Learning will continue to:
- Organize a variety of events, workshops, and panels aimed at enhancing teachig and learning
- Continue faculty reading groups
- Sponsor a program of grants for faculty attending teaching conferences
- Invite and review applications for the Governor's Teaching Fellowship Program
We will also begin new initiatives to:
- Provide orientation for new faculty
- Sponsor faculty learning communities on topics such as grant-writing, interdisciplinary education, scholarship of teaching and learning
