Spotlight: Jessica Farris

Jessica Farris is an undergraduate senior Psychology student at GRU who got her start in research when Dr. Topolski asked her to join his research team on non-consensual erotica and rape myths. Her team's research was presented at The Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality Conference in Tampa, Florida and the Southeastern Psychological Association Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Jessica plans to go to graduate school for clinical psychology, and she believes the experience she has gained from working with Dr. Topolski has helped her develop her research and assessment skills needed to be successful in her continued education. "Jump in! Don't be intimidated," she advises undergraduates interested in engaging in research. She notes that the faculty at GRU are very supportive, and you will learn so much about research and professional life. "If given the opportunity, I would definitely participate in research again!"
