"Exploring the Interplay Between Mathematics and the Humanities"
Purpose: Mathematical Connections provides a forum for exploring the interplay between mathematics and the humanities. This includes, but is not limited to, the relationship between mathematics and:
- art
- music
- literature
- anthropology
- history
- philosophy
- religion
History: Mathematical Connections was founded in 1992 by Steve Whittle and Keith Luoma of Augusta State University. At that time nine issues were produced, followed by a brief hiatus. The production of Mathematical Connections was resumed in 2002 (under the title "Series II").
Originally only a "print-only" publication, Mathematical Connections now exists in both web and paper form. In general, articles will be posted to the web on a rolling basis. Paper copies will be produced as needed (generally every 3-5 articles), and will be provided free-of-charge to authors.
Disclaimer: Although all articles undergo an editorial process, authors are accountable for the accuracy of their material and for the views expressed therein.
