Counselor Education Program Launches Ed.S. (Jan. 2013)
The Counselor Education program will admit the first candidates into the Ed.S. in Counselor Education in January 2013. Information sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, October 10 (5:00 p.m.) in University Hall Room 347 and on Saturday, October 13 (11:00 a.m.) in Allgood Hall Room E150. Educational Leadership Add-On Certification
Georgia Regents University offers the opportunity for educators who hold an Ed.S or higher to add the certification for Educational Leadership. Candidates who seek to add this certification will not be eligible for financial aid. To add a Clear Renewable Performance-Based Educational Leadership Certificate to any Georgia Professional certificate, the applicant must complete a GaPSC-approved Performance-Based Educational Leadership program, be recommended by the approved provider, and pass the appropriate Georgia content assessment(s).
Candidates must complete EDLR 6400 (Fundamentals of School Administration-3 graduate hours) and EDLR 6430 (School Law-3 graduate hours) prior to beginning the courses in the add-on certification program.

MEd in Educational Leadership 100% ONLINE
The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership is available as a completely online program at Georgia Regents University. The performance-based program consists of 36 semester hours of graduate credit. Candidates in the online program will be provided opportunities to link theoretical and philosophical frameworks of educational leadership to practice at the school building level. Initial information may be found in the resources below.
Applicants for the Online Program must meet the requirements for admission to the program without regard to method of instructional delivery. Requirements for Admission are located on the Graduate Admissions web site.
Note that Georgia P12 Certification is not offered at the Master's level in Educational Leadership.
Teacher Leader Cohort

Applications for the Master of Education in Teacher Leadership are due July 2. The criteria for admission include
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the Baccalaureate level.
- Clear, renewable certification (a copy of the certification must be provided.)
- A record clear free of criminal and disciplinary problems.
- Letter of recommendation from current building or district administrator.

Teacher Leadership is an advanced program intended for classroom teachers who seek greater responsibility and influence beyond their individual classroom. The coursework and experiences embedded into the program of study prepare practicing teachers to remain in the classroom while engaging with peers, the community, and other educational professionals as leaders.
