GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS
A limited number of Graduate Assistantships are available each semester to qualified students. To qualify for a graduate assistantship, a student should:
1. Be accepted into an Education graduate program and enrolled for at least 9 hours during the semester for which s/he is applying.
have basic office skills (word processing, pleasant telephone manner, etc.)
2. Be able to work 150 hours per semester (75hrs per semester for half-time - summer only). Hours are flexible, however, students will need to be available to work during daytime hours (between 8am and 5pm weekdays).
3. Have a recommendation from a College of Education faculty member (or an advisor).
Graduate assistants receive:
Waived tuition (students are still responsible for all fees)
Full-time assistants receive: a stipend of $1200 for the semester worked (usually paid in 3 or 4 monthly installments)
Half-time assistants receive: a stipend of $600 for the semester worked (also paid in monthly installments)
