WELCOME TO GRU! We are pleased that you are visiting our website to learn more about the MEd program in Special Education. Below you will find all the information you need regarding our program requirements for this advanced degree.

Master of Education (M.Ed.) - Special Education

No new admits are being accepted for the MEd in Special Education at this time. We encourage candidates interested in an advanced teaching degree to consider the MEd in Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) with a concentration in Special Education.

Program of Study

For those interested in Special Education, we will offer a SPED concentration in the C&I program of study. The courses will also be offered as elective for any graduate student. Courses for the SPED concentration will begin in Spring 2013 with the following course:
SPED 6950: Collaboration & Co-Teaching (Spring 2013)

Advanced Behavior Analysis
Introduction to Theory and Practices for Teaching Students with Autism
Transitions to Adulthood for Individuals with Disabilities
Advanced Assessment in Special Education
Advance Studies in Special Education

Field Experiences

Students admitted to the MEd in C&I with a SPED concentration will follow the field experience guidelines set forth through Teacher Education.
