While the financial aid application process is relatively easy, individual circumstances can create complications. We highly encourage early application (as soon as possible after January 1st of the academic year in which you plan to enroll), and a prompt response to any request for additional information. It should be noted that incomplete files cannot be processed. Please let the Financial Aid Office know if you need additional assistance or information.
Follow these simple steps to apply for financial aid at Augusta State University:
-
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Allow up to 5 to 7 days for processing. Remember to list Augusta State University as your institution of choice. Our Title IV School Code is 001552.
-
The FAFSA will generate a Student Aid Report (SAR). Upon receipt, carefully read the instructions and check the SAR for accuracy. Make corrections if necessary. You DO NOT need to submit your SAR to the Financial Aid Office.
-
If you have been selected for verification, please check your ELROY account for a list of additional documents required by the Financial Aid Office.
-
If the verification process results in mandatory corrections, the Financial Aid Office will resubmit the corrections to the federal processor. Turn-around time can take up to 2 weeks.
-
After aid has been processed, students can accept or decline their loans via ELROY. Post-Baccalaureate students must turn in a Direct Loan Request Form. Post-Baccalaureate students must also submit a Post-Baccalaureate Certification Form for any semesters they wish to receive student loans. Turn-around time varies, but you should
apply as early as possible.
