Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

What is Satisfactory Academic Progress?
Colleges and universities are required by the U.S. Department of Education to develop and implement policies by which academic progress is evaluated and monitored. Students must meet SAP standards each academic term in order to continue to receive Title IV financial aid and the HOPE Scholarship. Financial aid recipients are required to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in order to continue eligibility for federal student aid.

Students must maintain a minimum course completion rate of 67%. Students must also complete their program of study within the maximum allowable time frame which is 150% of the total hours required for degree completion. Students must also earn the minimum required GPA that corresponds with the total number of hours attempted. For more information on SAP, please see our Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards which is available on our website.

What happens if I fail to make Satisfactory Academic Progress?
Should you fail to make Satisfactory Academic Progress, your financial aid will be suspended and you will be notified in writing by our office. Students may appeal this decision by submitting a SAP Appeal form to the Director of Financial Aid for review and consideration.
