Dorothy Fletcher Eckmann

Internship at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art

Ms. Eckmann is a part-time instructor at ASU. She is also the Education Director at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art. As an artist, her areas of specialty are fibers and printmaking.

Dorothy Fletcher Eckmann is a fiber artist whose work includes mixed media sculpture, installations and wearables. Her exhibition record includes five solo, five two-person and over fifty local, state and national group exhibitions. The artwork is held in museums, corporate, public and private collections throughout the United States, Japan, South America and Europe.

Ms. Eckmann has received Artist Initiated Grant Awards from the City of Savannah and the State of Georgia. She received her Masters of Fine Arts from Georgia Southern University and Bachelors of Arts in Textiles from the University of Washington.
