Ms. Sweet is a part-time instructor at ASU. Dianne Sweet was born near London and attended Epsom School of Art, and then Hull College of Art where she received a B.A. (Honors) in Fine Art. She then studied at Manchester University where she received a Master of Arts in Fine Art (Painting) in 1982. On leaving college she set up an artists' studio group along with fellow graduates in an abandoned cotton mill in Manchester where she worked for several years as a practicing artist and taught figure drawing. She was then involved in establishing a small art gallery which brought artists of international acclaim to Manchester. She was also a visiting lecturer at several universities in England and Wales. Ms. Sweet gained a Certificate in Education in 1987, teaching at St. Martin's and Central Schools of Art in London during that year. Following this she was part-time lecturer in design, drawing and painting at Bury College in the North West of England, and was then Associate Lecturer of Art at Stockport College where she taught painting and art history for 10 years before moving to the USA with her family three years ago. Ms. Sweet is a painter who
has shown her work in 18 exhibitions in Britain and has exhibited regularly
in Augusta since her arrival. Her work is in public and private collections
in Britain, Europe and the USA. |
