Charlotte and the Boston Museum of Contemporary Arts. In 1997 she was a visiting artist at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and in 1996 completed a painting residency for the Baird Gallery in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. From March 21 through April 22, 2000, a show entitled "The Tree of Life" was on display at the Mary Pauline Gallery in Augusta. This show illustrates Whiting's' love of architectural spaces, ambiguity, and art history. Whiting often takes an image through the different media of oil, pastel, and gouache (opaque watercolor). |
