Barry Garman

Part time instructor

 

Dr. Barry Garman is presently an adjunct faculty member at Augusta State University teaching applied Double Bass. His other work at the university has included teaching String Methods. Dr. Garman's background is in Music Education with an emphasis on string pedagogy, and holds the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida, 1992), Master of Music, (University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida, 1989), and Bachelor of Music (Augusta College, Augusta, Georgia, 1980). In addition to teaching full-time and directing orchestras in the Richmond County (Georgia) public schools, Dr. Garman is a member of the double bass section of the Augusta Symphony Orchestra (Augusta, Georgia), in which he served as principal from 1981-1988.
