Brian Liu

Part time instructor

 

Brian Liu holds a Master of Music in Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music and a Bachelor of Science in Music Performance from Southern Adventist University. Liu currently plays with orchestras throughout the southeast including the Augusta Symphony, Chattanooga Symphony, Huntsville Symphony, and the Hilton Head Orchestra. He has also served as concertmaster of the Southern Adventist University Symphony Orchestra. As soloist, he has appeared three times with the SAU Symphony Orchestra, most recently performing the Vieuxtemps Violin Concerto. Also an active chamber musician, he has performed with the Cadek Chamber Orchestra, the SAU string quartet, and several chamber music organizations in Rochester, NY.

Mr. Liu has studied with Mikhail Kopelman, Charles Castleman, Christian Teal, Yehonatan Berick, and Mark Reneau. Chamber music studies include studies with Dr. James Stroud, Eugene Becker, Stephen Prutsman, Wu Han, Jean Barr, and members of the St. Lawrence String Quartet.

Liu is currently an adjunct professor in the Department of Fine Arts at Augusta State University and is on the violin faculty at the Augusta State University Conservatory program.
