Sophomore Connections
The Sophomore Connections program is designed to assist second year students in self-exploration, leadership development and campus engagement. Sophomores will engage in focused exploration of themselves and will learn leadership development skills. Participating sophomores will be pre-registered and block scheduled, and attend study sessions and social events as a cohort.
Why Connect?
Research shows that students who participate in living learning programs tend to have successful college experiences. Participating students learn to make better, informed decisions toward life experiences and academic success. Students also learn to relate to peers from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
With support from UV Connections advisors and peer mentors, students are able to bypass many challenges typically faced by new students. Trained advisors are available to provide guidance in nearly every facet of college life. By participating in one of the three connection programs, students will build a support network of classmates who live in student housing, take classes together, and have unique social events.
