Welcome to Grants Administration & Sponsored Programs

What is the Grants Administration and Sponsored Programs Office?

It is a new office that was created to help faculty and administrators find external funding for academic, scholarly, and creative pursuits or projects.

Such projects are defined as research, development, or sponsored programs . Any project funded through a grant implies an exchange of funding for goods or services. Those goods or services can be curriculum, model programs, professional development, equipment with application outcomes, or research with disseminated results.

At Augusta State University, the Grants Office:

• Informs faculty of funding opportunities
• Searches for potential funding sources for specific projects
• Gathers and interprets guidelines and application materials
• Assists in budget development
• Secures required signatures to commit the institution
• Edits proposals for compliance with guidelines
• Compiles and sends proposals
• Assists Project Directors in managing and administering funded projects
• Monitors post-award compliance and reporting requirements
• Offers workshops on various topics of grantsmanship
• Facilitates collaborations between faculty and/or the community
