Eligibility: Museums, institutions of higher education and nonprofits
Funding: Multiple awards ranging from $150,000 to $500,000 each (a 1:1 match is required)
Deadline: March 15.
Purpose: The program improves the knowledge and skills of museum professionals. Grants are intended to reach broad groups of
museum professionals throughout a city, county, state, region or the nation.
Grants fund a wide range of activities including: (1) development and implementation of classes, seminars and workshops; (2) creation
of resources to support leadership development; (3) collection, assessment, development and/or dissemination of information
that leads to better museum operations; (4) development of activities that strengthen the use of contemporary technology tools to
deliver programs and services; (5) support for the enhancement of pre-professional training programs; and (6) organizational support
for the development of internship and fellowship programs.
Insider's Tip: IMLS will hold two conference calls to aid application preparation on Jan. 6 and Feb. 3. Both calls will start at 2 p.m.
