Citigroup Foundation Community Development

The Citigroup Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Citibank Corp., dedicates approximately 75% of its charitable contributions to community development and education programs. The foundation seeks to support five target areas:

1. Microfinance and Microenterprise
2. Small and growing businesses
3. College and careers
4. Financial capability and asset building
5. Neighborhood revitalization

The Citigroup Foundation works with partners in the focus areas of Microfinance and Microenterprise, Small and Growing Businesses, and Neighborhood Revitalization to support environmental innovations and embed a “green” component.

Under the colleges and careers category, the foundation seeks to improve academic achievement and increase the ability of young people to contribute positively to the broader economy.

INSIDER’S TIP: In the colleges and careers focus area, the foundation is looking for programs that measurably increase the number of youth who are meeting academic, financial, and social milestones required for post-secondary enrollment and success.
