Small Research Grants American Astronomical Society

The purpose is to cover costs associated with any type of astronomical research. It provides from $500 to $7,000 in support of any type of astronomical research. Astronomers from smaller, less-endowed institutions are given priority for funding. Proposals also accepted from individuals not associated with an institution. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree; graduate students are not eligible. Acceptable costs include page charges, computing, equipment, shipping of equipment, and travel to observatories. Proposals accepted in May and November annually. Interim proposals discouraged but accepted with prior approval of AAS grant administrator.

Completed proposals are due in the AAS Executive Office by 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time on:

3 May 2010 for funds to be awarded in mid-2010.
29 November 2010 for funds to be awarded in early 2011.
2 May 2011 for funds to be awarded in mid-2011.
