Welcome

The Augusta State University (ASU) Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) is responsible for providing the leadership and administrative support necessary for continuous monitoring of ASU's compliance with the Principles of Accreditation of the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in order to allow for maintenance of the university's accreditation. In this vein, the OIE staff facilitates the development and implementation of assessment programs emphasizing continuous improvement in fulfilling ASU's overall teaching, research, and service mission. The staff consults with each academic program, academic support department, and administrative department to ensure all appropriate data are uniformly integrated for submission to SACS for the reaffirmation of accreditation. The office uses a variety of tools to help units and departments improve processes as well as assess institutional needs and develop plans that achieve the goals outlined in each department's mission and the strategic plan of the university. The OIE oversees a document repository (accessible via the ASU Oak) that documents and supports compliance with SACS principles.
