Administrative Systems

 

Administrative Systems at ASU is supported by the Programming & Systems Support (PSS) division of Information Technology Services. Our technical staff provides and maintains efficient administrative software systems for collecting, analyzing, disseminating, and acting upon information essential to the long range mission as well as the daily operations of the University. PSS is located on the 2nd floor of University Hall. PSS manages the University's shared institutional data and provides access for employees and students of the University through our client-server (Banner, PeopleSoft) and web applications. Above all, we are responsible for the confidentiality, integrity, security, reliability, and availability of information services for the University.


Systems Application Development/Maintenance:

  • Project management of new systems development
  • Project management for new programming (enhancements) or vendor upgrades to existing administrative systems
  • Modifications of campus systems to meet federal, state, and local regulations
  • Consultation for the selection of new software solutions on-site technical support for vendor supplied and maintained systems
  • Adhoc programming and assistance with Crystal Reports

Database and Systems Administration:

  • Account management, network printing services
  • Operating systems patches and upgrades
  • Database patches and upgrades
  • Efficiency optimization
  • Utilization monitoring

Security - All users are issued a userid and password to access appropriate administrative systems. PSS monitors use of the administrative systems in order to prevent unauthorized use of these systems. Each user is responsible for protecting their passwords and their accounts from misuse.

Electronic Mail - Email accounts for all students and employees of the University are maintained by PSS. We provide an environment giving the user the ability to send and receive electronic mail within the campus and the Internet, using a POP server.



The Help Desk is our front line when handling your concerns. If you have any problems with our administrative systems, please call the Help Desk.

If you wish to request a program modification for an administrative system, please submit a Request for Service.
