Friday, August 18, 2006 The student server //JAGUAR will be unavailable on Friday, August 18, 2006 between 8:00am and 4:30PM. During this time, additional disk storage will be added to increase student Z drive space from 20MB to 50MB. During the upgrade, access to student network storage space will be unavailable. Browsing and updating of student web pages will also be unavailable. Please plan accordingly for this time. If you have any questions, please contact the ITS helpdesk at 706-737-1482.
Time: 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM Dates: Friday, August 11 Monday, August 14 June 2 5PM - 6PM - Network Maintenance Information Technology Services will be performing maintenance on network equipment in University Hall on Friday, June 2, 2006 from 5:00 PM-6:00 PM. During this period, brief network outages affecting University Hall computers are expected. Also during this window, our core router will require some updates that will affect network connectivity campus wide. This outage should be brief and last no longer than 5-10 minutes. Access to all network resources including Email, Banner, Peoplesoft, network printing and Internet will be affected during this time. We expect all systems to be functioning normally by 6:00PM. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this maintenance, please contact the Information Technology Service Helpdesk at 706-737-1482. 1/17/2006 Maintenance Window: Wednesday night (1/18/06) from 11:00 PM until 7:00 AM Thursday morning (1/19/06) What: Performing maintenance on Network Equipment. Although a loss of service is not expected, there is the possibility ASU could experience brief Internet pauses during this scheduled 8-hour maintenance period. 1/4/2006: According to Microsoft: "On Tuesday, December 27, 2005, Microsoft became aware of public reports of attacks on some customers that exploit a vulnerability in the Windows Meta File (WMF) code area in the Windows platform. Upon learning of the attacks, Microsoft mobilized under its Software Security Incident Response Process (SSIRP) to analyze the attack, assess its scope and determine the appropriate guidance for customers, as well as to engage with anti-virus partners and law enforcement." "Microsoft’s goal is to release an update on Tuesday, January 10, 2006, to fix this vulnerablilty . . . In addition, attacks exploiting the WMF vulnerability are being effectively mitigated by anti-virus companies with up-to-date signatures."
