Getting Started with Office 2007

Office 2007 for Windows has been redesigned with a new User Interface to make it easier to find and use the features you need to deliver better results, faster. (Microsoft.com)

The Ribbon is the key to the new user interface. It is organized into tabs to help you find the commands you need to complete tasks.

  • Menus and Toolbars have been replaced by the Ribbon
  • Tabs, Groups, and Commands are part of the Ribbon
  • Each tab on the Ribbon relates to a type of activity and gives a more visual display of the features
  • A command can be a button, menu or box where you enter information

The Microsoft Office Button replaces the File Menu and is located in the upper left corner. You get quick access to open, save, and print features along with other new tasks.
