Terms and Conditions of Use: Blogging at Augusta
State
Blogging by anyone posting
to an Augusta State University (ASU) system, whether using
ASU's property and systems or personal computer systems,
is subject to the terms and restrictions set forth in this
Policy and the ASU Computer and Network Usage Policy. Blogging
is acceptable, provided that it is done in a professional
and responsible manner, does not otherwise violate ASU's
policy, and is not detrimental to ASU's best interests.
Blogging from ASU's systems is subject to monitoring.
Blogger identity is not anonymous. Only those with a
valid and current JagNET account may post a blog or comment
to a blog hosted on the network of Augusta State University
or within an ASU-related course management system.
ASU's Confidential Information policy applies to blogging.
As such, Members of the ASU community are prohibited from
revealing any ASU confidential or proprietary information,
trade secrets or any other material covered by ASU's Confidential
Information policy when engaged in blogging.
Bloggers shall not engage in any blogging that may harm
or tarnish the image, reputation and/or goodwill of ASU
and/or any of its personnel. Bloggers are also prohibited
from making any discriminatory, disparaging, defamatory
or harassing comments when blogging or otherwise engaging
in any conduct prohibited by ASU's Non-Discrimination and
Anti-Harassment policy
Bloggers may not attribute personal statements, opinions
or beliefs to ASU when engaged in blogging. If a Blogger
is expressing his or her beliefs and/or opinions in blogs,
the blogger may not, expressly or implicitly, represent
themselves as a representative of ASU. Bloggers assume
any and all risk associated with blogging.
Bloggers should follow all laws pertaining to the handling
and disclosure of confidential, copyrighted or export controlled
materials.
Use of ASU's trademarks, logos and any other
ASU intellectual property are subject to the terms and
conditions outlined on the Augusta State University Web
site. Enforcement: Any Blogger found to have violated
this policy may be subject to disciplinary action as outlined
in the Computer and Network Usage Policy.
Definitions
Blogging, Writing a blog - A blog (a contraction of the
term web log) is a website with regular entries of commentary,
descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics
or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological
order.
"Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to
maintain or add content to a blog.(Wikipedia, 2/26/2009)
