Procedure for Disposition of Old Computing Equipment

All departmental computers, printers and other computer related hardware items no longer needed by a department will be returned to Information Technology for disposition.

Computer, printers, and related hardware items that are returned to Information Technology will be disposed of in the following ways:

1. Reuse on campus. As determined by ITS, equipment that is appropriate for continued use on campus will be made available to other departments. If your department is in need of a displaced computer or other computer equipment, contact IT and we will put you on the Displaced Equipment List.
2. Surplus. Equipment that is no longer valid for use on campus will be sent to state surplus for disposal.
