If you run out of space, delete files you no longer need, move files that you are no longer using to a USB drive or burn to a CD. If you still have problems refer to http://www.aug.edu/its for more tips or contact the Help Desk.
Public and Private folders: There are three (3) primary areas in which you can save information. The owner of the account is the only one with modify access to any file.
- The WWW directory is public and is where your web pages are stored. Anyone can see the information in this area.
- PRIVATE is a folder which is private - no one except the owner of the account can see or access files in this area.
- Any files stored in your home root directory are also public and can be seen by anyone.
How do I get to and save my files?

Unauthorized use: It is the student's responsibility
to guard their account from unauthorized use. When using the account
in a computer lab on campus, be sure to log off the computer when you
are finished. If you do not log off, then someone else could access
and modify your information.
Logoff and Logon It is your responsibility to log off a computer when you have finished using it. This will ensure that no one else is able to access and use your account. It is also your responsibility NEVER to use a computer that has NOT been logged off. If the computer you want to use is logged on, first log it off, then log on with your account.

computers will have an automatic logoff feature after 20 minutes. Therefore,
if you have logged in to a campus lab computer and you do nothing for
20 minutes the computer will be logged off. So be sure to backup your
files as you work. This is not a total security answer, but it is a small
help.
