How do I get started with Electronic Reserves (ERES)?

HOW TO BEGIN

How to Get Started with ERES | Submission of ERES Requests | How to Access ERES |

Each faculty member that uses ERes must have an individualized account, to which their individual classes can be attached. Please contact the Reese Library Circulation Unit and they will setup the account and assign a temporary password, which you can change whenever you wish.

Each of your individual course pages will be set up protected by unique passwords so only students in each class have access to them.

O.K., I'm ready to have a document put on ERes. How do I prepare it?

For each individual item you wish to place on reserve, please use our forms:
Book Reserves (Requires Adobe Acrobat) | Book Chapter (MS Word document) | Journal Article (MS Word document)

1. Include your last name and the course department and number (as it appears in the Schedule of Classes) on the first page
2. Indicate the title to display in ERES.
3. Provide a full citation including author, title and source (ERES requests without a full citation will be returned to you).
4. Include the expected number of students in your class indicate whether this material will be used once, or in subsequent terms.
5. Indicate whether this material will be used in multiple courses during the same term
6. Indicate whether the material meets the terms and conditions of Fair Use, or if it needs copyright permission. Circulation Staff will help you in this process. Please allow up to 6 weeks for us to get copyright permission from the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC). Or you can seek permission from the copyright holder using this form.

To successfully scan and upload the document to ERes, the original must be clear, one-sided and loose leaf. Please do not staple or tape the pages. Letter, legal and smaller documents can all be scanned, but it is easiest if all the pages in a given document are the same size.

Submission of Digital Print Request(s):

1. Paper copies for EReserves must be 8.5" x 11", singled sided legible prints and must accompany the EReserves Request Form, available at the Circulation desk or online at
Book Reserves (Requires Adobe Acrobat)
Book Chapter (MS Word document)
Journal Article (MS Word document)
2. Lecture notes or personal test files, submitted via email attachments may also be added to EReserves. Please include your name, the course number, and the effective semester or semesters. Send your request to libreserves@aug.edu.
3. Reese Library will not accept course packs for Electronic Reserves.
4. The instructor who is placing the item on reserve is responsible for obtaining and providing documentation for any special copyright permission.
5. Items more than twenty pages long will be divided to multiple PDF files to ease electronic access.
6. Instructors are advised to review their pages for completeness and accuracy.
