Faculty Reserves
Journal Articles and Book Chapters:
Reese Library now uses an electronic reserves system, ERes, and as a result keeps only digital copies of photocopied materials. Faculty who placed journal articles or book chapters on ERes and plan to use this material again must resubmit a new reserve form with the current Course Name and Number. We will issue a new password for you to supply to your students. Any material submitted for digitizing will be processed and returned to the faculty member.
Whole Book(s) that are on Academic Year Reserve at the Circulation Desk beginning Fall Semester must have a new request form each year. Books not previously on reserve will need a reserve form submitted. Books owned by Reese Library will be pulled by the reserve staff when the completed reserve form is submitted via email, fax, etc. Books without current reserve forms will be withdrawn from the Reserve Shelves.
Faculty must agree to follow copyright guidelines when submitting reserve material. For more information on copyright see the Copyright Regulations links below.

To guarantee access when semester classes begin, please return the completed form(s) with your material to our Circulation Department at least two weeks before the first day of class. Requests received late will be processed in the order of receipt.
We request your cooperation in the following:
1. Only material that you require your students to use should be placed on reserve. Allow for one week minimum processing time to add new reserves. Please limit to 5 copies per title placed on book reserve. Material acquired through GIL Express or ILLiad (interlibrary loan) can not be placed on ERes or book reserve.
2. If possible, please provide the original rather than a photocopy, or provide a citation pointing to online access to the material. If the periodical or book is owned by the library, please submit the appropriate reserve form and the reserve staff will pull this item and digitize the article for access of material through ERes. If you own the original periodical or book please bring it and the appropriate reserve form to the Circulation Department and we will digitize the article(s) or book chapter(s) and return your original to you. Bound periodicals from the library collection cannot be placed on book reserve.
If the Reese Library or the faculty member does not own the book(s) needed for reserve please contact your Department Chair about using your department's Reese Library collection allocation to purchase the book(s).
3. Please provide your students with a list of materials which will be on reserve and the date materials can be expected to be available. Be sure to give your students the password(s) required to access any material on ERes.
If you have any suggestions, questions or problems relating to the use of ERes or the Book Reserve, please contact the Circulation Department at 737-1744, or email us at libreserves@aug.edu.
