Special Agenda Items: Library Employee Focus Group on Library Website Design. Library Business Manager, Michelle DeLoach, moderated the session. Employee responses to a series of structured questions were recorded and will be used, along with responses from other focus groups with faculty, staff and students, to make changes in the Reese Library homepage. Focus groups with students are scheduled for February 22 at 1:00 p.m. and February 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the Butler Room of the Jaguar Student Activities Center. Michelle also presented an overview of ASU’s new “At Your Service” system offered by Human Resources. Times of the formal information sessions provided by HR were provided and employees were encouraged to take advantage of the training. Michelle also reviewed the Library Food and Drink policy. There was discussion about posting signage and using handouts to educate users of the library building. All library employees are responsible for enforcing the policy. Michelle reviewed the policies and procedures for the new Family Room on the third floor. Employees were encouraged to direct library users (with current ASU JagCards who have children with them) to the Family Room. There will be a grand opening event soon. Funding is being sought for diaper changing stations in the restrooms on the third floor. The Night and Non-Traditional Students Committee will receive an orientation to the Family Room on February 20 at noon. |

This year the Inreach Committee is sponsoring an all-day staff development event on Friday, August 3, 2007. Dr. Sullivan, VPAA, has given permission for the library to be closed that day since the university is between semesters and there will very few people on campus at that time.
