Special Agenda Items:  1. Continuation of All-Library meeting from May 7, with giveaway drawing.  2. Continuation of Unit Plan discussion from May 7.

 

 

Area Reports:

Media Services: (Ralph Herndon):  R. Axton, R. Herndon, S. Logan, and G. Spivey will be attending the InfoCom conference in Nevada.

Reference: (Fay Verburg):  no report.

Library Instruction: (Camilla Baker):  6 classes were taught during the month of May; 4 are scheduled for June.

Special Collections: (John O'Shea):  President’s Cabinet minutes have been received and processed.

Technical Services: (Diane Black):  Media Services has received shelving for the music scores, and they are ready for moving.  Technical Services is also involved in a serials barcoding project and a Special Collections project.  Shelfreading through DH has been completed.

Automation: (Jeff Heck):  no report.

Outreach Librarian: (Mellie Kerins):  M. Whittington is working on the next issue of Reese’s Pieces.  Outreach is investigating getting software from American Library Association to produce our own READ posters of ASU campus notables. GaHealthGoLocal.org, a state project to link health services to people who need them, will go live on June 2; Reese Library will link to it on our website.  M. Whittington will also be posting items to What’s New on the website.

Electronic Serials: (Martha Bryant):  The following new databases have been added to our GALILEO resources:  Uniworld, Dictionary of Old English, Essay & General Literature Index retrospective, Short Story Index, and Short Story Index Retrospective.

Government Documents: (Yadira Payne):  no report.

Circulation/Associate Director: (Camilla Reid ):  Ebsco, ProQuest and SOLINET representatives have visited Reese Library recently.  The search process and interviews are proceeding for three job openings, in Circulation, Government Documents, and Automation.  Frame and shelving have been taken out of the Circulation area, in preparation for installation of new shelving for the Reserve collection.

Director: (Bill Nelson): Five requested positions have been reclassified or given equity adjustments, beginning July 1.  Student workers have received raises, and the minimum wage will increase to $6.55 in July.  Jessica Thompson has been hired as a new part-time librarian in Reference.

Committee Reports:  Inreach Committee:  The mural has been installed in the lounge. 
The President’s Advisory Council will begin meeting next week.
The Library Committee’s final report was filed this week
