Special Agenda Items:: (Reid): Discussion of change from “Library Faculty Meeting” to “Reese Library Leadership Team Meeting.”
(Blocker and Bustos): Possible subscription to LibAnswers/LibChat from Springshare; possible cancellations from the library list discussed at the last meeting. The library faculty was in favor of getting the LibAnswers, SMS, Lib Chat with 5 concurrent users, and Reference Analytics Modules, and will look again at LibAnalytics.
Decision: LouAnn will investigate both the ProQuest Historic Newspapers as a possible replacement for the New York Times microfilm and the New York Times Index, and Gale’s comprehensive biography package as a possible replacement for Contemporary Black Biography. The faculty voted to retain the Higher Education Directory.

Media Service: (Ralph Herndon): Gordon Spivey and Ralph Herndon were asked to submit technology items for a small capital projects proposal. They submitted a proposal with the name “Classroom Video Conferencing Upgrades,” to include video conferencing, and lecture capture upgrades to six classrooms on the ASU/Summerville campus. Gordon should be commended for his speedy and outstanding response in putting together the proposal.

Library Instruction: (Camilla Baker): No report.
Special Collections: (Carol Waggoner-Angleton): The “Saving the Voices from Augusta’s Past” series took place on July 9. There were 21 people in attendance. Special “thank you“ to Autumn Johnson and Matthew Whittington who carried the publicity and organizational load of this event.
Acquisitions/Cataloging: (Kyle McCarrell): The materials for Learning Support that were formerly housed in Media Services are being transferred to the Reserve shelves under Learning Support after record clean-up.
Kate Culver and Maryska Connolly-Brown continue to work on cataloging new materials, particularly in the areas of Art and Nursing.
Amanda Strever and various people in Special Collection have created a complete spreadsheet of all of the education theses. This was precipitated by the Curriculum Center needing space instead of holding copies that received little attention.
Kate Culver completed the statistics for FY12 and placed the final totals on the bindery.
Automation: : (Rod Bustos): The GIL Service site has created a kiosk version of GILFIND and the library has set the GIL stations on all three floors to point to it.
The new Bindery server is in the process of being configured at ITS and should be ready to go into production shortly.
The Meebo widget has been discontinued as of July 11. Libguides that were previously using Meebo for chat have been switched over to use Zoho Chat.
Outreach:(Johnson): Outreach submitted articles to the July edition of ASU Report’s Library Corner.
Electronic Resources/Serials: (LouAnn Blocker): Melissa Johnson and Arielle White mounted the magnetic tags with the journal titles in the current journals area which will assist patrons in locating those materials.
They continue the process of placing current journals that were previously bound in pamphlet boxes, moving those items to the bound journals area, and correcting their holdings records.
Melissa Johnson has completed Modules 1 and 2 of OCLC Connexion training.
Government Information: (Various): The 50th Depository Anniversary Committee met and established September 17-25th for the week-long anniversary celebration. The week will kick off with Constitution Day, tentatively cosponsored with ASU Political Science Club and ASU Office of Student Activities. Reese Library will host a formal program and reception for invited guests on September 18th. Mary Alice Baish, Superintendent of Documents, and Hallie Pritchett, Regional Depository Librarian, are confirmed as speakers. On September 25, Reese Library will host National Voter Registration Day on campus. An exhibition in the Second Floor Gallery, a first-floor Government Information display, and Facebook Scavenger Hunt are also planned.

Associate Director/Circulation: (Jeff Heck): Work continues on planning for the move of Media Services’ collections to Reese Library. The DVD and VHS tape collections have now been added to the materials being moved.
Director: (Camilla Reid): There are two Reese Library faculty searches still underway for Government Information Librarian and Special Collections Librarian. Library administration is currently awaiting approval by university administration on the committee’s recommendation for the Special Collections Librarian. LouAnn Blocker is chair of the Government Information Librarian search. The committee aims to have a candidate selected prior to September 1.
Physical Plant submitted a capital projects proposal for a new HVAC system for Reese Library.
Consolidation Reports: : (Heck): Job descriptions have been submitted for staff positions in the New U.
Text describing governance planning by the Governance Work Team for the Prospectus has been created, submitted, and approved.
(Johnson): Consolidated Libraries Website Subcommittee: Web-based surveys were created to gather information about user attitudes and perceptions about the current Reese Library and Greenblatt Library websites. The Reese Library survey will target faculty, graduate students, undergraduate students, and community users. A web-based survey (Survey Monkey) will be distributed to users in the fall upon approval from Dr. Seago and the GHSU Office of Assessment.
(Blocker): Content Management Team met July 11. The group continued its work of gathering information on journal packages from Springer, Wiley, and Elsevier, GALILEO Cost-Share databases, and other common titles like The Chronicle of Higher Education for possible group purchases next year.
Committee Reports: (Blocker): The search committee for the Government Information Librarian will have its first meeting July 16. There are 26 applicants. Committee members are: LouAnn Blocker, Fay Verburg, Miriam Zecharias, Dr. Augustine Hammond, Peter Shipman, and Ginny Loveless.
