Access Policy
Adopt-a-School Library Privileges Policy
Reese Library cooperates in the Augusta State University Adopt-a-School Program by providing a community user card at no cost to faculty of the adopted schools (currently Laney Comprehensive High School, Tubman Middle School and Lamar Elementary). This card enables the holder to check out a total of five (5) books at a time from the library collection for a loan period of four(4) weeks.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) privileges cannot be extended to community user card holders because of the heavy demands in fulfilling the ILL needs of Augusta State University faculty and students. In addition, because of limited resources, loan privileges are not available from the Media Services department.
Each year the principals of the Adopt-a-Schools should send the library a list of approved faculty. Faculty on the approved list may obtain their community user card by applying at the Reese Library circulation desk and presenting a valid photo identification.

Computer Use Policy
Reese Library computers are provided for research by Augusta State University students, faculty and staff. Community members may use the computers in the Reference Room when they are not occupied.
Additional guidelines:
1. ASU students, faculty and staff have priority on all public-access computers. When other ASU users are waiting, use is restricted to one hour. Research for classes has priority over other uses of the computers, such as email.
2. Community members may work on a computer in the Reference Room for up to two hours. Registration at the Reference Desk is required.
3. Children are not allowed use of the community computers in the library unless they are in high school and have Reese Library passes signed by their high school teacher or media specialist. High school students without passes must be signed in by a parent or legal guardian.
4. Any harassing, illegal, or in any way disruptive use of the computers will not be tolerated. Violators of this policy will be asked to leave the computer area immediately.
