If We Scan Reese Library Materials For You:

Turnaround time: Normally, within 24 hours after filling out a brief form.

OCR: We will convert scanned graphics into an editable text file at the discretion of the librarian or staff person.

Quality: We will produce the best scan possible without providing cleanup (we will not “despeckle,” adjust for moiré pattern, etc.).

Size: Items may be scanned at 75 dpi through 2400 dpi, and images may be saved in TIF format or in derivative compressed formats, such as JPEG or GIF. Saving as TIF images, high resolution, and larger numbers of scans produce a longer turnaround time. A high resolution scan takes about 15 minutes.

Printing:  All prints generated by the library staff will be made on standard 8.5” x 11” 20 lb paper unless the patron supplies other paper.

Payment: When the requestor picks up the scan(s), they will also pick up the completed request form, which will show their total charges. They will use the form to pay for the charges at Circulation. Circulation will mark the form “PAID” and allow the requestor to keep the form as a receipt.
