The Library Committee
(Responsibilities and general membership information found in the Faculty Manual.)
Responsibilities
The committee advises the Director of the Library on such matters as allocation of funds for library
acquisitions, reviewing library services to students and faculty and recommends improvements and
changes in these services. This committee also serves as a liaison between the library staff and the faculty.
Membership
The Library Committee shall consist of three students, the Director of the Library (ex-officio and
non-voting), and six additional faculty members (with at least one member from each college).

Policies for Expending Departmental Library Allocations
The Library Committee has been in the process of reviewing the recommendations and suggestions from the last SACS visit as they relate to Reese Library. As a result of the last visit, each college or department on campus was asked to develop selection policies for the expenditure of their allocated library funds. We are asking that each college and/or department review/or develop its policy related to this matter and file a copy with Reese Library. If you need a copy of the existing policy that is on file in Reese Library, please contact the Library Administration Office at extension 1745. The Library will be happy to provide a copy of the policy and any additional information to assist you in reviewing these policies.
