FACULTY POSITION IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
Augusta State
University is seeking to fill a
tenure-track position in Computer Science at the level of assistant or
associate professor to begin in August 2010. Candidates must hold a
Ph.D. in
Computer Science or a related field. The position carries a teaching
load of twelve hours
per semester. Expertise in the teaching
of database, software engineering, programming languages, or the theory
of
computation is necessary. Familiarity with C++, C#, MATLAB, and Visual
Basic is
desired. Eligible candidates should also have the interest and
expertise to
deliver online courses and the ability to engage students in
undergraduate
research activities or to obtain external funding.
Augusta State
University, a unit of the University
System of Georgia, is a four-year
liberal
arts institution with approximately 7000 mostly non-residential
students. The university is
located in
Augusta, Georgia, the second largest
metropolitan area in the state. Augusta
is served
by major airlines and is a comfortable drive from Atlanta,
the southern Appalachian Mountains, and many beach resorts in Georgia and South Carolina.
