Meet the Staff
Carol Giardina
Director of Military and Veterans Service
Carol Giardina completed a B.A. in International Business/ Studies in 1991 and the M. Ed., Counseling at Wichita State University in 1993 while employed as an admissions officer. She is the Director of Military and Veterans Services at Georgia Regents University. Prior to accepting her current position, Carol served as the Acting Director and Associate Director of Admissions at Augusta State University (1995-2012). She was responsible for the recruitment of special populations including non-traditional, international, and home-schooled students. During those years, she was also the Admissions Office liaison with the Education Services Division at Ft. Gordon. Her work with these populations, who experience some of the greatest barriers to higher education, makes her uniquely qualified to assist service members, veterans and affiliated family members seeking admission to Georgia Regents University. In addition, her experience with international education systems and English language proficiency for non-native speakers has prepared her to advise military spouses from other countries. Although Carol never enlisted, she was a military daughter and mother. She is the proud grandmother of a Navy man and feels that all service members and veterans are our parents, children and grandchildren. When she is not working, Carol enjoys a variety of fitness activities, traveling, reading and spending time with her family and pets. She resides in Martinez, Georgia with her granddaughter, Korin, a freshman at Georgia Regents University.
