Augusta State University's Reese Library is thrilled to present Let's Talk About It: Jewish Literature -- Identity and Imagination, a reading and book discussion program that explores themes in contemporary and classic Jewish literature.This program was developed by the American Library Association and Nextbook, a gateway to Jewish literature, culture and ideas.

We will host a five-part discussion series featuring the theme Modern Marvels: Jewish Adventures in the Graphic Novel. Book discussions will be held every 3-4 weeks beginning in September 2008 and will be facilitated by local scholar Dr. Robert Bledsoe, Associate Professor of German at Augusta State University.

The featured books are:

A Contract with God by Will Eisner
The Complete Maus: A Survivor's Tale by Art Spiegelman
Julius Knipl, Real Estate Photographer: Stories by Ben Katchor
The Quitter by Harvey Pekar
The Rabbi's Cat by Joann Sfar

We will begin the program with an essay by Jeremy Dauber:
Modern Marvels: Jewish Adventures in the Graphic Novel

ASU is hosting a FREE showing of the Oscar nominated film Persepolis on Monday September 29th in University Hall Rm 170 at 7pm. [French with English subtitles].
