Augusta State University Reese Library
Reese Library, the research and reference support center for Augusta
State University, provides a wide variety of services that promote the
educational purposes of the University. Within its 80,000 square feet is
a collection of more than 450,000 volumes, including an extensive
collection of government documents, microforms, and more than 9,000
periodical titles of which over 1,900 are current subscriptions. There are
quiet study areas, study rooms, an education curriculum laboratory,
photocopiers, CD ROM databases, online databases, Internet access,
and computer laboratories.
What is GALILEO?
Georgia Library Learning Online (GALILEO),
a nationally-recognized computer system connecting Georgia researchers, provides a wealth of
information resources with more than 100 separate databases, 10 with the full text online.
Searching is available at terminals in the library and at various campus locations.
What is GIL?
The GALILEO Interconnected Libraries (GIL)
for the University System of Georgia, is the library's computerized catalog. GIL provides access to
information about most library materials within Reese Library as well as the collections of other
institutions of the University System of Georgia.
For students with personal computers, remote access to GALILEO and GIL is also available. Contact
the Reese Library Reference department (706-737-1748) for current availability and access
procedures. Materials from other libraries may be accessed through the InterLibrary Loan service (ILL).
For reference assistance, professional librarians are available in the reference room at all times.
Library tours and instructional sessions are provided for classes and individuals.

Lexis Nexis Academic Universe. This is the most-widely recognized legal
electronic database. All articles are available full text.

JSTOR Journal Archives - Contains complete runs of core scholarly journals in
many areas. All articles are available full text. http://www.jstor.org/
