A limited number of graduate assistantships are available to help students finance their graduate education. A graduate assistant (GA) works closely with an assigned faculty member and assists him or her with research or performs other duties as needed. GAs are given a tuition waiver, paying only $25 of tuition. However, they must pay all fees, books, and other expenses associated with their education. GAs are paid a small stipend for their work (10 hours per week). GAs are full-time students, meaning they typically take 9 semester hours worth of course work in addition to their assistantship duties. To be eligible for an assistantship, you must be a student admitted to the MPA program as a regular admission and complete the application form below.
